We believe healthcare access is a human right. Yet every day, Americans are falling through the cracks.
Introducing our Health Access for Equity Program.
Sostento is launching its new program, Health Access for Equity, to address under and uninsured patients’ barriers to care head-on, starting with our first pilot sites in Atlanta and Chicago.
In talking to patients and providers in these two cities, we learned that lack of transportation was one of the primary barriers preventing individuals from receiving the care they desperately need. Providing free and timely transportation solutions, such as free rideshare services, will be a large component of the pilot work.
On the whole, Health Access for Equity will work to eliminate barriers, like lack of transportation, adapting as patient needs change and taking a “listen-first approach” when building access interventions to ensure they do the most good for the most number of people. Working through a trusted network of free and charitable clinics across the country, the program’s ultimate goal is to expand upon the pilot work, improving low income patient access to care and resources nationwide.
