In 2021 at the height of the COVID-19 public health emergency the health workers Sostento served were running out of personal protective equipment (PPE), a dire and life threatening situation. Mobilizing with the crypto community in a few short weeks we raised enough resources to purchase and ship equipment to thousands of health workers in need. It demonstrated to Sostento the social good potential of the crypto community.
In 2023 a crypto community awareness campaign highlighted the burnout being faced by health workers and in 2025 we established Sostento’s Crypto Advisory Board to engage with professionals working in the industry and deepen our understanding of the blockchain. In 2026 we’re launching our Crypto Community Fund for Healthcare Access to respond to the rising rates of uninsured Americans struggling to access care.
We are a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2019 serving communities across the United States.
Sostento is an Italian word that means to uplift, sustain and nourish. By 2030 we aim to help at least 10% of uninsured individuals in the United States overcome a barrier to quality healthcare.
